Description
‘Professional series’ Quena. Made in Peru. G 440hz classical tuning.
For beginner/intermediate students looking for a flute with new challenges and greater range, look no further than the Quena!
Traditionally played by the indigenous tribes of the South America mountains and their ancestors the Quena is a great addition for musicians and woodwind players.
These stunning ‘professional series’ rosewood flutes make a beautiful sound, often described as having a ‘textured’ or ‘dark’ timber/tone.
Quena are not fippled like the Native American style flutes. This means that the player must make the appropriate mouth and lip shape to channel the air over the notch to create sound. Quite achievable with a little practice. A similar 6 hole style on the front with an additional back hole makes playing Quena familiar, whilst also refreshingly different to Native American style flutes. Quena also feature a broader playing range with greater overtones in the high end.
A beautiful bag is included with each Quena.
